The 13th Yunhe Terraces Kaili Festival officially launched in Grain in Ear.

Grain in Ear—the 9th of the 24 solar terms is the time of rapid growth between grain harvest and sowing. Kaili Festival is a folk tradition that has lasted for nearly a thousand years in Yunhe County (Kaili Festival means that it is time to start the year’s ploughing). In 2019, the 13th Yunhe Terraces Kaili Festival officially launched in Grain in Ear.

At the opening ceremony, Shangguan Guomin, Deputy County Mayor of Yunhe County Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) delivers an opening speech, and Chen Zimin, secretary of CPC Committee of Lishui municipal bureau of culture, radio, television, tourism and sports, introduces Yunhe’s tourism. After the awarding ceremony for excellent parent-child tourist destination, Ye Bojun, secretary of Yunhe County Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) announces the official launch of the Kaili Festival.

Shangguan Guomin presents in his opening speech that Yunhe Terraces is a bright pearl at the foot of Donggong Mountain, and it is the wisdom of the people in Yunhe County to conform to nature. Yunhe terraced fields is previously unknown, but now its name become widely known. At present, to promote the development of Yunhe terraced fields is an important strategy for rural revitalization.

The 13th Yunhe Terraces Kaili Festival lasts from today to June 30 with a variety of activities, including the opening ceremony, folk performances, farming cultural experiences, unmanned aerial vehicle photography, and art exhibitions about fairy-tale Yunhe terraces.

A breeze is blowing and thousands of trees are striving for blossom. At this moment, wonderful Yunhe Terraces Kaili Festival comes and another harvest is in expectation.
