Kia Sorento 2021

Kia has undoubtedly proven itself to be the most recently purchased brand. This Korean manufacturer has been busy for several years to improve its reputation in terms of quality, design and reliability. Sales figures prove this. During 2019 and 2020, it is the sixth best-selling brand in Australia. This is one of its most important models, the end of its model life cycle until the end of 2020.

Now, the new 2021 Kia Sorento has undergone major design overhauls, making it leap to the front of a large SUV in terms of styling, comfort, space and road performance. Sorento has many offers, and there are four specification levels and two engines to choose from.

The lineup includes S, Sport, Sport+, and the GT-Line at the top (check it out here). In all variants, you can choose a front-wheel drive 3.5-liter gasoline V6 with a traditional eight-speed automatic transmission, or a 2.2-liter turbocharged diesel four-cylinder engine with a new eight-speed two-speed diesel engine. Clutch automatic transmission.

Here, we are testing Sport (steel gray) and Sport + (mineral blue) models equipped with diesel engines. Prices start at US$35,290 for the cheapest S gasoline, to US$49,290 for GT-Line diesel. For testing here, the Sport diesel starts at $41,290 and the Sport+ diesel starts at $44,690.

2021 Kia Sorento Sport & Sport + – Packaging

The most eye-catching aspect of the new Sorento must be its design. It introduces a new direction for the Korean brand and looks different from other boring SUVs on the road today. It moves the air through a bold nose, a large dark grille that Kia calls a "tiger nose," and exquisite LED lights. It seems difficult. There are slight bumps on the hood and sides, which increase personality and strength.

The tail shows new elements, with two narrower and taller taillights, and a sinking center that casts a sharp shadow. The back is decorated with eye-catching hexagonal chrome ornaments, connected together under the eye-catching "Sorento" name. It seems almost dangerous-something bad guys can drive in a thriller movie.

If your greatest need for an SUV is space, then Sorento will not let you down. It's oversized. Full-size adults have a lot of space in the first and second rows. Usually, the third row is only used to provide enough space for children, while Sorrento provides more space. Adults can find comfort here even for a long time. As a help, you can perform multi-zone climate control (starting from the Sport mode), and the second row can slide back and forth on the guide rails to provide more space where you need it most.

Even when installed in place on the third row, the boots provide a commendable 187L. With the folding of the third row, the volume increases to 616L. If that is not enough, you can fold down the second and third rows of the 2011L.

is still practical, with many holes and cup/bottle racks to store your essentials, including a large center console that can hold more tissue boxes. There are three USB ports in the front row, Sport+ and up score another three in the second row behind the center console and the back row of the front seats, and there are two in the third row. Eight in total! Of course, there is still a 12-volt power socket in the first row and in the trunk.

In our opinion, the interior decoration is very appropriate. The appearance of the material is strong and modern. We like the snakeskin pattern dash inlay and the brushed metal decoration around the vents and knobs. The sports version uses exquisite cloth decoration, while the sports version uses leather upholstered seats. Both options are comfortable and can provide support for long vacation trips.

The elegant and neat instrument panel is full of visual impact, and there is a 4.2-inch digital screen with three themes in the center. At the top, GT-Line adds a stunning all-digital screen. Except for the basic model, all other models are equipped with an excellent 10.25-inch infotainment screen. The menu layout is intuitive and easy to use, and the colors look vivid and modern. We like the look of the pink and purple neon fonts on the black background.

Although the price is slightly higher than the previous generation, Sorrento is still good value for money. By default, all variants have seven seats and a large number of standard features are listed. Sport (pictured below) and Sport+ (pictured above) present an ideal balance, providing all the necessities as well as a large number of comfortable luxury supplements.

Starting from the basic model, you can get a full set of active safety features, such as lane keeping assist with lane departure warning, blind spot sensor, forward collision mitigation for pedestrian detection, front and rear intersection warning, front and rear parking sensors, side door exit warning, fixed-distance cruise Control, driver attention detection and front and rear LED fog lights with automatic low beam and high beam.

Selecting the Sport model can provide you with 18-inch alloys, tire pressure sensors, larger touch screens (from 8 inches to 10.25 inches), multi-zone climate control, 10-way electrically adjustable driver's seat, with 10 satellite navigation systems. Free map updates and traffic information, as well as an excellent automatic window defogging function.

Then in Sport+, you will get 19-inch alloys, exterior door handle puddle lights, heated first-row seats, heated steering wheel and rearview mirrors, hands-free electric tailgate, and buttons for starting via remote engine start.

Kia still provides the best warranty on the market. The brand has an unlimited mileage of up to 7 years, which is truly rewarding. You will also receive 12 months of free roadside assistance. Repairs are required every 12 months or 15,000 kilometers, whichever comes first, you can purchase repair programs with price restrictions in advance.
